The H2020 EuropaBON project is designing an EU-wide framework for monitoring biodiversity and ecosystem services. The project aims to engage stakeholders at the regional, national and European level to identify the data needs of European policies and targets.
This workshop will be composed of two main parts:
– The 26th of May will start with a high-level policy event with speakers from the European Commission, the European Environment Agency, EuroStat, the Joint Research Council and National representatives. Afternoon sessions will delve into biodiversity data users and providers needs, challenges and solutions with keynote talks and discussions.
– May 27th and 28th will be composed of interactive working sessions aiming to map the biodiversity monitoring landscape, its policy needs and gaps, as well as to identify Essential Biodiversity Variable (EBV)/ Essential Ecosystem Services Variable (EESV) workflows in Europe.
